It MAY seem cheaper to rent, but I am a firm believer in the fact that if you move when you rent you start with NOTHING. If you sell and move and buy another house, you have your equity from the first house backing you up. Also, when you own, you can be sure repairs get done instead of waiting for a lazy landlord. If you have to be responsible for your own repairs, only you can be blamed for not doing them. I know repairs cost money. There is always give and take or pro and con in choosing rent or own.
