HIV is transmitted by:

1. Unprotected sexual intercourse with infected person (either heterosexual or homosexual).
2. Transfusion of infected blood or blood products.
3. Infected mother to her baby during pregnancy, birth process and through breast feeding.
4. Use of infected needles and instruments without sterilization or sharing of needles and syringes by HIV drug addicts.

Is it true that homosexual transmission rate is the highest mode of transmission of Hiv/AIDS?

I was reading an article and thats what they say, but what do you think, is it so?

Atleast, that is what they teach us. I checked with a friend of mine who is a doc and he admits homosexual transmission has highest transmission rate.
