Default Euthanasia : Should it be legalized?

Euthanasia refers to mercy killing. This is a procedure where medical aid is withdrawn from the patient upon their orders if the patient is unlikely to recover from terminal illness after considering all the possibilities of survival.

There are extended references as well. I guess Germany has Euthanasia legalized. Should euthanasia be legalized in your country?

I am in Canada and I have to say yes, it should be legalized. There was a case here about this before and the answer by our Supreme Court was a fat "No", but when the woman who wanted to die got assisted anyway, no one went looking for the doctor who helped her. Its under the table, so to speak. It should just be legalized to help those in need.

I can recall a case few months back when a patient had requested Euthanasia because he could not bear the pain and sufferings. He was suffering from a cancer and was in terminal stages. It was going to end soon and everyone knew. Because of law, his plea was turned down and he had to bear pain and sufferings for another one month before he passed away.

Situations like this, in consultation with team of doctors would be an ideal setup for who can benefit from Euthanasia.

Yeah it would be truly beneficial to those who want to end the pain. To end the controversy, they should state that it should be used for Terminal illness only and the at the patient's sole discretion.
