Rugby in Canada

My son just started playing rugby on a team for his high school. This is a fairly new sport to our school, it's been here a few years I guess. I have been to some of the games and I have watched carefully. I am beginning to get it, but is there anyone here who can give me a general explanation? Also are there any profession rugby teams in Canada or just maybe for the Olympics? Any suggestions for sites where I can learn more about it?

Sports is not fair to parents. I am just starting to understand rugby, and today was already the last game of the season. The funniest part of this was that I spoke to other parents at the game today (male and female both) and none of us really have understood the game, it seems. This is the first year any of our sons has played, although the school has apparently had a team for a few years now. I don't really feel bad about it. The teacher who was sponsoring the team said she didn't really get it either.
